Our Mission

The Restorative Justice Collaborative of Utah (RJCU) is a coalition of community members and professionals who promote access and understanding of restorative principles and practices in communities, schools, and justice settings.

Our approach

Support

We partner with schools, justice professionals, and community organizations to support their efforts to implement restorative justice systems and practices.

Teach

We offer customized professional development opportunities in restorative justice, including:

  • Training

  • Coaching and consultation

  • Modeling effective restorative practices

Advocate

We work with legislators, school officials, community leaders, and advocacy organizations to promote the incorporation of restorative justice principles in our education and justice systems.

What WE DO

  • Serve as a clearinghouse for technical assistance and support to implement restorative practices in schools, communities, and justice settings.

  • Advocate and support restorative justice legislation that benefits all Utahns.

  • Convene monthly meetings of restorative justice practitioners in Utah.

  • Connect schools, nonprofits, and government officials with resources to learn about restorative justice and its applications.

  • Facilitate a common understanding of restorative practices and principles.

We cannot solve problems by using
the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
